There is a special place in the design universe for those textures that feel as if they’ve been quietly waiting for their renaissance. Canneté, with its rhythmic grooves and subtle shimmer, has been whispering in the wings for long enough. Now it’s stepped back into the spotlight with fresh swagger, thanks to the decidedly meticulous and ever so confident hands of Italian design house Riflessi. If anyone was going to bring the ribbed effect back into the conversation without making it feel like a nostalgia act, it was always going to be them.
In today’s interiors where materials need to multitask as both backdrop and protagonist, this kind of quiet sophistication hits just the right note
This is not the canneté of your grandmother’s cocktail cabinet. Riflessi has taken this iconic motif and softened it into a tactile, almost sculptural surface that feels thoroughly contemporary. The ribbing is achieved through skilful manual craftsmanship, each piece brushed by hand to coax out depth and brightness. The result is a three dimensionality that doesn’t shout but certainly knows how to be noticed. In today’s interiors where materials need to multitask as both backdrop and protagonist, this kind of quiet sophistication hits just the right note.

A coherent language for modern interiors
Riflessi’s reimagined ribbed texture becomes the connective tissue of a holistic interior approach. Tables, sideboards and coffee tables can now speak fluently to one another, creating coordinated living spaces that are unmistakably Made in Italy. It’s a design language that offers freedom without chaos and personality without excess. And while the finishes vary, the common thread of canneté keeps everything deliciously coherent. At the heart of this story is Riflessi’s devotion to craftsmanship and bespoke refinement. The brand has long understood that luxury doesn’t scream, it whispers through details. Every piece is treated as a unique project rather than a mass produced object. The perfection they pursue is not cold precision but the warmth of the human hand made visible on the final surface.

Sculptural centerpieces
No piece embodies this philosophy more boldly than the Onda Table. Its name gives the game away. The base undulates with an elegant ripple, a soft sculptural gesture locked in metal. It’s a registered design and unmistakably the kind of object you build a room around. The minimalist structure frames the base like an artwork, with customisable finishes that lean into the richness of hand brushed metals including brass, titanium, cobalt and ruby. If paint is more your palette, graphite, pearly champagne and bronze offer subtler interpretations. The tops keep pace with this level of refinement. Ceramic layered onto 12 mm glass appears in shapes ranging from round to barrel, available in more than twenty glossy and matt finishes. For those who entertain in both intimate and expansive modes, the Onda also comes with an extendable top. The Onda Round and Square versions follow suit, offered in three sizes with both fixed and extendable configurations. To complete the ensemble, the Onda Suspended Sideboard arrives in bronze lacquered wood. Its geometric inspiration and deep grooves echo the table’s aesthetic, creating a play of light and shade that turns even storage into an expressive design feature.

Crafted presence
Not to be outdone, the Enea Table brings its own sculptural approach. Here the ribbed central base anchors the design with a presence that feels both architectural and inviting. The new solid wood soap shaped tops in natural oak, heat treated coke oak and Canaletto walnut are particularly striking. Those leaning toward ceramics can indulge in finishes like Silver Root White, Calacatta Black, Breccia Imperiale, Macchia Vecchia and a textured matt Patagonia.Riflessi’s new canneté collections prove that texture is far more than surface decoration
Compact living spaces are not forgotten. The Enea Round and Square models now come in an L140 cm version, maintaining the same bevelled ceramic on glass construction. Even the Enea Coffee Tables share the ribbed character, available in Big and Small and fully customisable across base and top.

Storage that joins the conversation
Riflessi’s pursuit of harmony continues with the latest iteration of Techwall, the modular bookcase system. New hinged door cabinets, drawers and flap door modules now arrive with the signature canneté effect, allowing storage to slip seamlessly into the brand’s textured universe. It’s a smart evolution that expands the ribbed aesthetic across yet another everyday function.Riflessi’s new canneté collections prove that texture is far more than surface decoration. It’s a narrative tool and in the right hands a rather irresistible one. The ribbed revival is here and happily it has never looked so chic.
