Glarus / Muri, 05.04.2022 - After two years of construction, the new three-house hotel "Caspar" in Muri, Aargau, opened its doors in March 2022. The new hotel is named after the famous Murian Caspar Wolf (1735 - 1783), who is one of the most important Swiss painters of the pre-Romantic period and is considered a pioneer of high-alpine landscape painting. The hotel ensemble consists of the newly built 'Wolf' and the two historic houses 'Adler' and 'Ochsen'. The overall concept of the new building and the total renovation of the two historic houses was undertaken by the architect Tilla Theus. The internationally renowned architect, a native of Chur, has been running her office Tilla Theus und Partner AG since 1985. Together with her team, she specialises in project planning and execution of new buildings in challenging urban contexts, in conversions and renovations of listed buildings, as well as in interior architecture and room design.
When furnishing the rooms, the three-house hotel relies on high-quality furniture from horgenglarus. In addition to the two restaurants, Ochsen and Adler, the more than 50 rooms, the conference rooms and a sacred-looking, multifunctional hall were furnished with various pieces of furniture from the Swiss table and chair manufacturer horgenglarus.
