The Ndebele Wheel hanging chair swing seat is sculptural and dynamic. Its striking circular shape lends itself for use as a functional art piece. The chair has an open yet enveloping feel.

The Ndebele Wheel follows the classic shape of Studio Stirling’s original Wheel; but with an African inspired design inside. The pattern detail is inspired by the geometric Ndebele artworks used in house painting which is practiced by the Southern Ndebele people of South Africa. The Ndebele Wheel is a uniform cylinder but is also available as a more dynamic shape which ends at a sharp point.

Each one is made by hand. The core frame is standard to ensure consistency in shape and comfort. Due to the variance of craftsmanship going into each chair, every piece has individualism and uniqueness in some of the pattern detailing.

Konzept

Das Wheel ist einem echten Schmuckstück abgeschaut. Und soll als solches in gross seinen Betrachter erfreuen. Ein funktionelles Kunststück, das als hängende Liege oder als schöne schwingende Schaukel beinahe unverwüstlich ist. Die inneren Muster sind alle unterschiedlich und sind inspiriert von den schönen Wegen, die sich die Aeste in der Natur suchen. Die Offenheit des Wheels, die komplette Durchsicht vermittelt schwebend, sehr leichtes Gesamtbild.

Jedes Objekt ist ein Unikat und wird von Hand aus robustem Stahl gefertigt. Sie sind wetterfest und für den In- und Outdoor-Gebrauch gut geeignet. Das Verfahren zur Oberflächenbehandlung gleicht dem vieler Autochassis. ‚Epoxy / Environ coated‘ steht für hohe Widerstandsfähigkeit und macht sie unempfindlich gegen Rost. Die Aufhänge-Vorrichtung ist in Standard Länge für eine 2.40 m Decke bzw. Balken vorgesehen und wird komplett mitgeliefert. Weitere Längen fertigen wir gern auf das individuelle Mass an. Jeder single ‚Hanging-Chair‘ ist für max. 120 kg zugelassen. Ein kleines Lager verspricht sofortige Lieferung. Sonderanfertigungen besprechen wir gern individuell mit unseren Kunden.
