Floor weaving with a single design is a geometric issue that has interested humans since ancient times, particularly because of the aesthetic value of tiles and mosaic tiles.There are different solutions for covering a floor with a single shape, such as triangles, squares, rectangles, hexagons... But what about pentagons? The pentagon does not possess these properties, at least not in its regular form. Using computational tools that can derive the right deformations, “(ir)-regularities” presents eight different irregular pentagons that can tile a floor.
Konzept
A partnership project between young designers and Mardegan Legno for the creation of design and sustainable products for the environment. A unique opportunity to combine creativity and innovation with environmental sustainability.
The project aim is to focus on the raw material and its transformation: ideas in compliance with wood sustainability, from the very first step as the material selection.
