Konzept
Eighteenth-century scenes of rural life are featured in the Jardin Gris mosaic pattern by Patricia Urquiola, created with white gold and glass mosaic tiles and currently offered in a new grey color option. Through a contemporary lens, the Spanish designer interprets one of the most famous themes from the French textile tradition of the 1700s: Toile de Jouy.
"A mosaic tile is a pixel made of living material. It is gentle to the touch despite being a material with its severity; I chose the module of the eighteenth century Toile de Jouy fabric. We worked with different shades of white to create new depths and we added spots of silver to brighten the design. " Patricia Urquiola
