Japanese designer Shin Azumi conceived the Loku Chair using three dimensional veneer ply technology. This innovative technique allowed the seat to be moulded into a single, fluid form that is both comfortable and supportive. This plywood form sits atop sleek wooden legs and comes in either an oak or walnut finish.

Konzept
Japanese designer Shin Azumi designed the Loku making good use of the efficient methods of three dimensional (3D) plywood technology, which allows the seat to be moulded into a shape, making it both comfortable and supportive. The moulded seat and back is made from a thin plywood veneer that can be shaped when heated into tight curves to stiffen the material. The Loku chair is available with a wood & metal or steel tube base, in oak or walnut plywood and with or without a leather seat pad. The chair was designed for both commercial and residential use providing variations to accommodate the different uses.

a studio is a design company established by a Japanese designer, Shin Azumi, in London. The activity is across product, furniture and space design, and working with a variety of areas of clients including consumer products, furniture, lighting, electronics, audio equipments, space design including interior of shop, restaurant and exhibition, etc. Shin Azumi and the works won numerous awards in Europe and in Japan. They are also invited for many exhibitions organised by Design Museum(UK), British Council(UK), Vitra Design Museum (Germany) and so on. Also works are acquired as permanent collection by Stedelijk Museum (Holland), Crafts Council (UK), Die Neue Sammlung (Germany), etc. Observation + Distillation Observation is always the key of development.
