pfarré lighting design creates daylight- and electrical lighting projects for architecture, land- and cityscape. We are in a position to carry out public, commercial, cultural and private projects on almost any scale. For special requirements we offer customized solutions, and designing light objects in the specific context of the architecture and the task concerned. In our projects, both aesthetical and technical longevity are as crucial as our focus on energy efficiency. Good lighting design enhances the architecture and promotes its acceptance.

Gerd Pfarré is the founder and design director of pfarré lighting design, an independent lighting design practice based in Munich, Germany. Working with a global perspective, the team is focused on holistic responses to the particular project, environment, and culture.

Gerd is a Professional Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers IALD since 1998, in 2012 he was inducted to the IALD College of Fellows. He is frequently being invited to lecture at universities and conferences around the world. He is active as a judge in awards programs and design competitions and was

Co-Editor of the print edition ILLUMINATOR.

Gerd's projects have been honored with over 100 national and international design awards, such as the most prestigious "Radiance Award for Excellence in Lighting Design". On the occasion of the 40th LDA Lighting Design Awards Ceremony 2016 in London, Gerd Pfarré has been named "Lighting Designer of the Year".
