1969- Born in Osaka.

1992- Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Architecture.

1996- Completed the Master Course, Yale School of Architecture.

1996-2000- Worked at Jun Aoki and Associates.

2000- Established Office of Kumiko Inui

2000-2001- Teaching Associates at Tokyo University of Fine Arts.

2006-2008- Teaching at Showa Women’s University

2008-2011- Teaching at Tokyo University

2009- Teaching at The University of British Columbia School of Architecture

2009-2010- Teaching at Kyoto Institute of Technology
