As always curated by MoscaPartners, the 2022 edition of DESIGN VARIATIONS will be held in two new central venues:

the CIRCOLO FILOLOGICO MILANESE in Via Clerici 10, part of the Brera Design District

and PALAZZO VISCONTI in Via Cino del Duca 8, at the corner of Corso Monforte, the Lighting District, and close to Via Durini.

Located in the center of Milan – near to La Scala and the Duomo- the building that houses the Circolo is an eclectic architecture of the early 1900s with the characteristic full-height Liberty Hall.

The Circolo Filologico Milanese is the oldest association in the city, founded to spread the culture and study of foreign languages and civilizations. Still guided today by the same international inspiration, it represents the ideal place to promote the culture of design.

It is one of the most elaborate examples of Milanese Rococo, characterized by richly decorated rooms and magnificent frescoes. Built in the seventeenth century by a Spanish nobleman, after several changes of ownership it was purchased in the nineteenth century by the Visconti family, who returned the palace to its original noble nature. Today the palace is located in a strategic position- between Corso Monforte and Via Durini- in one of the most important design districts of Milan.

For the launch of the new locations we will collaborate with OLIMPIA ZAGNOLI, creator of the site-specific installation Cariatidi Contemporanee (Contemporary Caryatids), that will transform the façade of the Circolo Filologico Milanese and Palazzo Visconti, in collaboration with 3M’s Architectural Finishes team who will supply and install the finishes that will cover the surfaces.

Since 2008 she has been collaborating with the publishing world creating illustrations for The New York Times, Taschen, La Repubblica, The Guardian. In 2019 she designs her first cover for The New Yorker. Several are his collaborations with brands such as Barilla, Prada, llly, Apple for which she creates campaigns, products and installations.

Also for the edition of 2022 DESIGN VARIATION promotes the culture of design and the development of innovative thinking as well as encourage the relationship between professionals, brands and design enthusiasts.

MOSCAPARTNERS was founded in 2011 by Caterina Mosca and Valerio Castelli thanks to their passion and long experience in the field of design culture.

Over the years, the events organized by MoscaPartners have hosted the works of the most important protagonists of the design world, including exclusive European design schools, emerging talents, international architects and designers.

Kengo Kuma, Michele De Lucchi, Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, Marcio Kogan, Patricia Urquiola, Francis Kerè, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Asif Khan, Pezo Von Ellrichshausen and Aires Mateus have all contributed to creating high-impact exhibitions during the events, working closely with the world's leading design companies.
