Brand Bites: JUNG
The name may mean ‘young’ in English, but Made-in-Germany building-control experts JUNG are definitely no Johnny-come-lately.

Architonic sat down with JUNG marketing chief Deniz Turgut to talk about the company's philosophy and how JUNG products aim to solve some of today's most pressing design challenges.

How would you describe JUNG’s design DNA?
The design DNA of JUNG thrives on a field of tension that drives us: smart and beautiful. Past and future. We believe in the creative power of technical precision – and in the responsibility to make architecture not only functional, but also sensually perceptible. Our design language is reduced, timeless and clear. It follows architectural principles rather than fashionable trends. With switch classics like the LS 990, we created a design that has endured for decades, yet can always be reinterpreted.
Our design philosophy is deeply rooted in modernism, but always forward-looking. With digital interfaces, smart home solutions and individually configurable systems, we bridge the heritage of functional design with the demands of the connected architecture of tomorrow.

What are the key challenges architects face today that JUNG's products solve?
Architecture today faces a dual challenge: buildings must be both aesthetically sophisticated and technically high-performing, energy-efficient and future-ready. This complexity calls for solutions that are flexible, reliable and design-consistent. And this is precisely where JUNG comes in.Firstly, modern buildings must meet numerous technical requirements within limited space – without compromising architectural expression. Our switch ranges offer an exceptionally wide selection of materials, colours and designs that integrate harmoniously into any interior, including the exclusive Le Corbusier colour palette.

But planning intelligent buildings also involves complexity. Our KNX and JUNG HOME systems make it easier for architects and planners to control lighting, climate, shading and security in a modular and scalable way, without any visual disruption at the surface.
Then there’s sustainability and energy efficiency. Climate-conscious construction requires precise control systems for daylight use, ventilation and heating. Our technology helps manage energy flows intelligently, enhance user comfort and prepare buildings for certifications such as DGNB or LEED.
And last, but not least: construction projects today are complex collaborations. JUNG supports this with compatible interfaces, BIM data, planning tools and personal consulting, ensuring smooth integration into architectural and MEP planning.

Can you describe how architects can collaborate with JUNG during the design and planning phases?
Architecture begins with an idea. And that’s exactly where we come in. We see ourselves not merely as a product supplier, but as a strategic partner in the planning process. Our goal is to support architects from the very beginning, with technical expertise, design sensitivity and a deep understanding of the demands of complex architectural projects. Our JUNG Architects’ Service provides concrete assistance in every phase of planning – from selecting suitable switch ranges and system solutions to integrating them into smart building concepts, as well as providing specification texts, CAD/BIM data, samples and mock-ups. We think along, and often ahead.
'JUNG is present where architecture begins – and remains until everything works perfectly'
In addition, our technical consultants assist with the implementation of complex requirements, whether in light management, KNX planning or design coordination within interior concepts, including training sessions or workshops for planning teams.
Equally important: our systems are planning-friendly and scalable, whether for a renovated villa, a new office building or an international hotel project. We help make visions achievable and functionally, aesthetically and technically precise.
JUNG is present where architecture begins – and remains until everything works perfectly.
