A compact, soft, comfortable upholstered with a strong personality has joined the MDF Italia collection.
The Mia soft design comes from the simple gesture of folding a cushion to create a nest- a shelter for relaxing moments.
Simple in the look, but versatile in the character, its contrasting trim underscores the form by highlighting its strong, but never aggressive personality.
“As you want me to be” is Mia spirit, designed to accommodate every kind of cover. Thanks to the interplay of colours on the trims- from the tone-on-tone to the boldest contrast- Mia can suit one’s very own taste and sensitivity.
“As you want me to be” also in its dimensions: armchair, pouf and sofa are composing the collection made of small dimensions that are adapting and matching any ambient, from home to the public spaces.
Comfort and customization characterize this collection: glamorous, minimalistic, classical… still, always contemporary.
Structure
The supporting structure is made of solid wood and plywood with a base equipped with elastic belts; the filling is in variable density polyurethane foam, and the cover in polyester padding. Only the Armchair is available both in a fixed version (with concealed feet) and in a 360° returning swivel base.
Cover
The Mia collection is characterized by an extra-thick decorative trim which emphasizes its sinuosity by tracing its edges and intersections. The trim can be in the same tone of the cover, or in a contrast colour- LONDRA fabric -based on the customers’ choice.
The fabric cover embraces the entire product and is tailored to enhance its shape and softness.
For these peculiarities it is recommended, for ordinary maintenance, a cleaning of the surface with steam or a simple soft cloth with water and ammonia, wiping the fabric gradually and checking the result once dry. Finally, if for some reason you have to proceed to remove the fabric for cleaning, use a “gentle dry cleaning” due to the presence of the contrasting profile, made of a different fabric than the one of the covering.
The cover is removable, and it is recommended to lean on skilled upholsterers in the sector, both for removing and fitting it back on the product, to obtain the best final result.

Konsep
The Mia family, standing for comfort, softness, conviviality and aesthetics, this year adds the L and XL variant. The collection is completed with a 150 cm two seat sofa and an extra 174 cm two seat sofa.
Mia stands out for its rounded off lines, the surrounding seat and for the soft and cozy swelling of the arm and backrest that reminds a folded pillow.
The project actually originates from the simple act of folding a pillow, thus creating a nest, a shelter for relaxing moments.
“As you want me” is Mia’s spirit. Mia has been designed to receive any type of coating. It can be customised depending on client’s needs or aesthetic taste, playing with profiles’ colours, spanning from “ton-sur-ton” to the most exaggerated contrasts, thus allowing everyone to interpret it and adapt it to any environment.
Featuring a simple line, but with a versatile personality, the Mia range confirms the versatility of use of MDF Italia Collection that, though focused on the home space, also adapts very well to public venues and lobbies.

Completely upholstered (just like a skin) with an easily-removable cover thanks to an elegant zipper defining the shape of its armrests.
The trim can be in the same tone of the cover, or in a contrast colour based on the customers’ choice.
The fabric cover is specially made for maximum softness and covers every part of the armchair.

Since 1992 he has been working as a free-lance designer with various design firms. He has worked as a consultant in industrial and environmental design at the Milan Polytechnic and has collaborated with different design magazines. He has designed for ARFLEX, COLOMBO DESIGN,IMETEC, MOLTENI & C., STEEL, STATUS, MONRIO HI FI, PANASONIC CLIMATIZZATORI, TOTO DESIGN JAPAN, SICA, LUC’E, IDEAL STANDARD, CIMA Arredobagno Group, and VITREAL specchi. Among his works the system Biblio for the new library of the TEATRO STREHLER in Milan in collaboration with ELITABLE. At present he is a consultant to MDF Italia for the company’s image and communication and Vittorio Bonacina for which he designs products and setting-ups AWARDS - ICCF AWARD 2002 for the Ray chair manufactured by MDF Italia.- ADI DESIGN INDEX 2003 for the RAY sofa manufactured by MDF Italia.
