Milan is calling! A little louder than usual this year, because Milan Design Week 2022 will be the first real opportunity to celebrate the merger of Designboom, Architonic and ArchDaily into the new entity DAAily platforms.

The physical manifesto of this merger is a brand new hotspot at Swiss Corner, in the eastern part of the Brera Design District, namely the DAAily bar: a central meeting point for the A&D community, open every day from 2pm to 9pm.

Food for thought

In addition to coffee and cold drinks, there will be hourly Live Talks with international greats from the worlds of design, art and architecture, who will provide insights into current trends and developments, moderated by our Editors-in-Chiefs Birgit Lohmann (Designboom), Simon Keane-Cowell (Architonic) and David Basulto (ArchDaily).

In hourly live talks, international greats from design, art and architecture provide personal insights into current trends and creative developments

Design spaces

It's not only the guest list for our Live Talks programme that's impressive, however, the design of the DAAily bar itself is, too. The nature-inspired Art Curtain by Swiss artist Douglas Mandry – created in collaboration with Bally and Christian Fischbacher – covers the walls and converges with an immersive floral installation by Anne Vitchen, floral designer at the Ritz Paris. A merging of visual and olfactory sensations that will not be quickly forgotten.

The lounge has been created in collaboration with Munich-based furniture designer Stefan Diez who is presenting his new chair collections mudra for Brunner and Plusminus for Vibia. The stage, meanwhile, has been developed in cooperation with Barber Osgerby from London, who will also be presenting their new Alpina Chair for MAGIS.

Grab a coffee and get inspired, with the diversity of the creative scene in Milan. This could be the beginning of a wonderful friendship

Another name synonymous with the city is Patricia Urquiola, whose new chair collection Nuez for Andreu World will also be on show enhancing the location's 10-metre bar. The outdoor lounge – furnished with Sebastian Herkner's Caribe collection for ames – is another centrepiece of the DAAily bar: an inviting outdoor space where visitors can get to know new people while letting the impressions of the day sink in over a refreshing drink – or two.

And speaking of getting to know new people, all the designers mentioned above will be part of our Live Talk programme so visitors will have the opportunity to get in contact with them face to face at the venue.

Have you had one glass too many or have you just stared at the art curtain by Swiss artist Douglas Mandry for too long? In the DAAily bar, nature-inspired art and flower arrangements meet product design and exciting personalities
