The sidepieces are of the same width and thickness as the table top, giving an inverted U-shape. Visually, this leads to a harmonious balance and perfect symmetry.

The two sidepieces and the top are attached at right angles by a superb dovetailed joint. This join is so strong and stable that no other construction is necessary and the shape remains pure.
