Doors cannot be opened without a handle ... you can however hide the handles, style them, make them very bold, etc. but they are always present. While most cabinets are using the same hinges or sliding mechanisms, there are still other ways to open a door. This inspired Koen Devos to make a cupboard where the user does not open the door, gravity does! By simply pulling the lever, the door starts falling open in a subtle and calm way.
It becomes surprisingly poetic. You don’t expect the door to open, let alone with a graceful and slow swing making it a pleasure for the eye. The only thing you need to do is to mobilise the axis..
