Tree Hooked is more than a coat rack. The design of Dutch duo Jan Habraken and Alissia Melka-Teichroew looks like a work of art, like branches growing wildly along a wall.
They picked up the idea for the shape while travelling across Europe. ‘We were inspired by a pattern of flowers we saw on a wall somewhere.’ Tree Hooked has a stylised branch shape. According to Habraken, the added value lies in the possibility of connecting several different racks together. ‘This repetition produces a lovely picture on the wall.’ You are as it were creating your own coat rack.
