The outward opening doors, drawers, shelves and inner drawers make it possible to adapt this design individually to the owner’s needs.

Whether drawn up to a table or standing alone, the practical value of the TIX bench is what differentiates it from a sculpture. The seat consisting of horizontally or vertically placed wood elements inserted in the aluminium end supports, appears to float in space. Wood and metal are connected without benefit of auxiliary materials, the bench derives its great stability and firmness simply from the pressure of the wood and the hardness of the aluminium.

When closed, the Slideboard appears as a ‘monolithic’ wooden cube with a sliding door superimposed at one side, the front broken only by a fine, precise shadow gap.

The curved supports as a new underframe for TIX have been developed to complement all table shapes, whether square, round, elliptical, boat-shaped, rectangular, large or small. The delicate outer edges and the differing radii of outer and inner curves give a light, almost transparent impression, yet are extremely stable. The TIX concept has been carried further – the cool, technical underframe supports the strong, solid wood top which radiates an atmosphere of warmth. The curved supports are in available in steel with aluminium finish, or in raw steel.

The outward-opening doors, drawers, shelves and inner drawers enable the office to be tailored individually to the occupant’s needs. The aluminium surfaces give the front a feeling of lightness and geometrical clarity; they have been horizontally brushed and given a natural galvanised finish.
