Stocksessel | Gebrüder Thonet Vienna Gmbh, Wien

Designer Gebrüder Thonet
Year 1866
Architonic id 1028258

A historical re-edition that seduces with its olden day charm.
A walking stick with various functional metamorphoses: walking stick, table or foldable stool with a Viennese straw seat, connecting the three curved legs and the back support with its swan’s neck handle.
A functional versatility of the material: beech curved using the famous Gebrüder Thonet Vienna steam bending technique.
According to tradition, the Empress Elizabeth of Austria purchased one of these walking sticks at the famous Strauchgasse, the historical shopping street in Vienna, and never separated from it during her travels around Europe.
Today, Princess Sissy’s favourite walking stick is made in several new colours.
Still reminiscent of the past splendour of the Viennese court, this object is now also an expression of modern day aesthetics.
Original design: Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, 1866.
Available varnished red, yellow, white and black.
Wengé wood, dark cherry, light cherry, dark walnut, light walnut and natural beech.
