Sigrid 2 Upholstery fabric by FANNY ARONSEN

The two-coloured upholstery fabric Sigrid 2, an evolution of Sigrid, is a sophisticated combination of classical and contemporary, featuring a magnified herringbone. It is suitable for commercial and public spaces and private homes.

Herringbone is traditional twill binding, sometimes used in fabrics for clothing, which offers a distinctive pattern. In the case of Sigrid 2 the pattern is magnified.

The fabric is composed of a blend of worsted wool, polyamide and polyester, with the last two materials providing extra durability and strength. The fabric is woven with a boucle yarn, which adds depth to the texture, making it extremely tactile.

The refreshed colour palette features fashionable and surprising shades like brick red, warm orange and fennel green, alongside more classical tints of midnight blue, aubergine and olive green. Most of the tones are combined with a moderate tint of warm grey.

Sigrid 2, like all FANNYARONSEN fabrics, combines innovation, subtle intuition and premium quality materials. The possibilities for mixing and matching with the rest of the collection are huge. Sigrid 2 combines particularly well with fabrics like tactile Vidar and elegant Haakon.

Fanny Aronsen’s trademark is tactile fabrics and intriguing, colourful designs. The juxtaposition of her Scandinavian heritage and international experience is a theme often reflected in her work. Clues to her Nordic history and cultural background can often be found in her designs but, ultimately, her work transcends all borders.

Now working from her studio in Stockholm, she has lived and worked in Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam for many years. She is a Professor in Textile Design at the University of Stockholm, where she lectures at the renowned Konstfack - University College of Arts, Crafts and Design.

Fanny Aronsen has received several awards for her designs, including the German Rote Punkt, the Swedish Utmärkt Svensk Form and the Dutch Mobila Innovative Prijs and Goed Industrieel Ontwerp.
