The stylish SEMI pendant soon became a design classic after its two designers Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup won the industrial design competition in 1967 at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen.
It was already during their studies that the two architect students developed the SEMI pendant, which is world known for its curved enamelled metal that forms after one fourth of a circle. The shape of the lamp and the crown silver light bulb give the light a unique spread in the room. At that time each SEMI pendant was manufactured by hand by a trained metal worker.
Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup won several design awards for their production of lighting fixtures and they designed both lamps and watches for, among other, Royal Copenhagen and Georg Jensen. Already at that time the SE MI’s special design interacted well with the organic furniture of Verner Panton and Eero Saarinen, which were often produced in materials such as steel, plastic and glass fibre.
The SEMI pendant is today a design classic, which hangs beautifully in both private homes and public spaces.

Available in matt white, glossy anthracite grey, glossy blue-grey, glossy orange, matt black in two different size Ø 30 and Ø 47, and in matt white and matt black for Ø 60
