Natural and modern: Porcelain Stoneware in Floorboard Style

The Black Forest conjures up all sorts of images. Bobble hats, cuckoo clocks and half-timbered houses. Fields, meadows and forests. SCHWARZWALD (the German name for the Black Forest) from gres|steuler captures these associations. The porcelain stoneware tiles build on the countrified rustic style but apply the wooden theme in contemporary fashion. Idyll with a modern twist, as it were.

“SCHWARZWALD conveys the warmth and comfort of wood but is so modern that it creates the right flair in a chic city living room too,” says Product Executive Tomas Deinböck. Steuler-Fliesen emphasises the “wooden feel” when it comes to format too – these tiles come in an unusual floorboard style.

SCHWARZWALD features the whole colour spectrum of wood as a material, from really light to very dark, from cosy to chic. And each with natural or polished surfaces. “There is something to suit every room and everyone’s taste,” explains Deinböck, “the tiles can be used in a living room, open-plan kitchen, bar area or even in a shop. Moreover, they are suitable for use around fireplaces or ovens. And those are just a few of the numerous possible applications.”

There is a good reason for the unusual name of the range, by the way: “SCHWARZWALD doesn’t just fit because we are featuring the variety of wood, but also because this mountain range is right on our doorstep,” says Deinböck. So why look any further…?

SCHWARZWALD is available in six shades: smoked, maroon, patina grey, grey, natural and black moor – each colour is also available with a polished surface.

The basic tile measures 20 x 120 cm, the matching skirting is 7.5 x 120 cm.
