Finesashiko embroidery, by which two layers of cotton cloth are stitched together in decorative patterns, was traditionally used in Japan to reinforce and embellish worn fabrics. NUNO's SASHIKO is not a true sashiko, but a jacquard double-weave of two different materials, back and front, which are interwoven in places with"sashiko-style" patterns.
