The Round Collection, designed by Christophe Pillet, focuses on rounded lines to give extremely comfortable seats and armchairs, whereas both the square and low tables are distinguished by their clean, elemental shapes.
According to Pillet: “there is something which cannot often be easily found in outdoor furnishings and this is what I have tried to express in this collection: a simple, timeless quality with a touch of detached elegance”. The Round chair projects aim to enhance the materials used with the innovative, deep-draw technique, in which the sheet metal is compressed between two steel dies to create three-dimensional shapes. They are distinctive, innovative items, yet not cumbersome. Although originally designed for contract use thanks to their advanced technologies, their excellent mechanical strength and distinct practicality, their balanced design and discrete elegance also makes them perfect for home furnishing.
This family of tables now welcomes two important new arrivals to its collection: two large, impressive looking, extending tables. The drop-leaf structure consists of two aluminium tubular sections of the same size, which can be used either separately or together and which slide on little plastic wheels mounted on steel pads. The lower part of both tables is identical: tubular legs with rectangular cross section, with a very simple, practical open and close mechanism. The size of this table, its elementary lines and user-friendliness make it an original new arrival for the Round range which is resolutely expanding for both indoor and outdoor use in home furnishing. The difference between the two versions lies in the table tops; the first is made of solid, hot dip galvanised sheet metal, the second has a 12mm-thick HPL laminate top for outdoors (an absolutely new product for Emu), which is not only scratch resistant, but also resistant to light and to the most severe weather conditions.
