Riddled Plywood Chandelier

Suspended lights from CASAMANIA & HORM, Designed by Steven Holl

Product description

Creativity and innovation come together in a luminous sculpture constructed with a 2-mm wooden material, laser etched, and folded in an origami-like fashion, thanks to a complex technological process patented by Horm. The LED light, passing through the structure holes, creates unique plays of shadows that allow Steven Holl to offer the same emotion his architecture conveys albeit at a different scale.

Ceiling lamp with lampshade made of a material created and patented by HORM, a wood-fabric sandwich 2.2 mm thick which, thanks to a number of superficial incisions made with a laser cutter, can be folded up like origami. Solid walnut wood frame. Mounting on the ceiling with steel plate and adjustable steel wires. The ceiling lamp has two separate electrical circuits that power light bulbs mounted in the top half and six hot light LEDs installed in the bottom half. The light bulbs emit light downwards while the LEDs emit light at the sides through the laser-cut holes in the lampshade to create a play of light and shadow on the ceiling and walls.
