Quartz, designed by Joel Karlsson Krook & Tjäder Design in 2011, is a rectangular-shaped, sound-absorbent fibre-felt that comes in three lengths; small 320 mm, medium 480 mm and large 640 mm. The felts are 56 mm thick and 160 mm wide. The inspiration for the design comes from the endless variations of classic parquet flooring patterns that can be created using just a few simple basic shapes. Quartz comes in a choice of four colours; black, off white, champagne and red. There are two ways of fixing Quartz to the wall – either as separate lengths of felt secured in place with adhesive tape, or as fully finished patterns on panels that are screwed to the wall. Quartz is also available as a suspended screen with sound-absorbing felt on both sides. You can install Quartz in areas where the sound level needs to be reduced and in rooms that you wish to divide up into smaller units. With Quartz you can create all kinds of attractive patterns – brick, rain, herring-bone, Inca, diagonal, etc. Quartz is as versatile as your imagination!
