A town in a new light. Jesolo.
The architect Gustavo Carabajal, a partner in the Spanish architectural studio Carlos Ferrater, was asked to design a new look for Jesolo. The small Italian town on the Adriatic coast was to receive a new centre, representing a simple and contemporary focal point of life in the town.
Carabajal opened the town up to the sea and redesigned Piazza Manzini. In direct collaboration with the planning group, ewo developed lighting systems to illuminate the square, which are not only sculpture-like but also equipped with an extremely precise lighting technology.
The individually manufactured luminaires make use of a secondary lighting technology through which the glare effect is reduced, the light achieves a higher degree of uniformity and the area to be lit can be precisely defined. The result is a lighting atmosphere which is admired by locals and tourists alike.
