It looks elegant, spacious, and its semi-circular back and arm rest reflect the design language of Scandinavian classics: Pelle (in Italian: hide, leather; the name of a character in Astrid LindgrenÔÇśs ÔÇÜVacation on Seacrow IslandÔÇś) is the name of the refined new entrant to the contemporary range of chairs. It was designed by Milan-based designers Catharina Lorenz and Steffen Kaz, Studio Lorenz*Kaz, who have designed seating furniture for us before. The special thing about PELLE: Its freely hanging seat made from core leather. It is also refined in the leather-bound aluminium inlay used for the shaping of the seat. This solution stabilises the chair without taking the flexibility of leather away from it. In design terms, the merging back and arm rest is its stand-out feature. With PELLE we decided to return to beech for once ÔÇô a wood associated with the early years of ZEITRAUM ÔÇô because we find the combination between beech and natural leather to be especially appealing. We will be presenting the final, production-ready version of PELLE for the first time at the imm cologne.
