Onkel by Normann Copenhagen
A versatile companion
- Normann Copenhagen presents the Onkel two-seat sofa, designed by Simon Legald
Normann Copenhagen has now launched the Onkel sofa as a two-seater. The Onkel sofa combines the simplicity of modern design with the soft curves of the olden days. The outside shell of the sofa has a firm expression, while the cushions are both comfortable and inviting. The choice of material adds a touch of sensuality with its characteristic references to Scandinavian design.
The Onkel sofa consists of a simple, upholstered frame with cushions. The inspiration for the cushions derives from the more bombastic upholstered sofas typical of the pre-1950s era. To emphasise the merger of two completely different worlds of expression, the back cushion has been elegantly encapsulated by the frame. The materials in Onkel create a dynamic effect with its plain-colored frame, mottled back and cushion and color-lacquered under frame. All in the same color shade. This is what makes Onkel stand as a complete unit.
Normann Copenhagen says: ”There is a real trend of the smaller sofas recapturing the living room space at the moment and we have received many enquiries from people looking for a smaller version of the Onkel sofa. This new, smaller version is not only an obvious companion for the three-seater Onkel but also suitable for smaller homes where the need for more space-saving furniture is necessary.”
Onkel is a recognizable Scandinavian design and is available in four colors both as a two or three-seater sofa upholstered with fabrics from Gabriel.
