The chair was designed to fullfil a brief for occasional seating for both domestic and contract interiors and has been designed to create an occasional chair with the right mix of aesthetic appeal and commerciality.
The inspiration for the form came from Pengelly’s fascination with 3D ply technology, and represents an investment in design and technology to produce a shape of such complexity in veneer.
The ‘OC’ chair is the result of a balanced relationship between the shape of the seat shell and the form of the wire base which curves to nestle the shell within it.
The form offers the user a variety of seating positions which along with the inherent flex in the seat shell provides a large degree of comfort.
