Helene Vonsild made her debut with Kvadrat in 2001 with the Lithium, Hydrogen and Helium curtains. Since then, she has designed the Apollo and Sputnik curtains, the Chicago upholstery fabric and most recently Moon screen fabric, made of 100% Polyester. Colours that can inherently add something to the room is the rationale behind the colour selection. The colour palette ranges from pastels and neutrals to bold, prominent colours. The breadth of the colour palette allows individual colours to be used alone or to interact with the rest of the interior in contemporary environments.
Helene Vonsild points out that some of the colours can be selected to create contrasts in the room, while others can be combined with a view to creating cohesion in the room, adding the finishing touch to a colour concept. This is why the colour palette ranges from light, airy pastels and neutrals to deeper, bolder colours.
The texture of Moon is subdued and vaguely diagonal, which lends a certain mildness to the style of the colours. The colour interplay is achieved using a combination of a neutral, inconspicuous warp thread and a dominant colour in the weft. The woven texture and colour combinations in each colourway combine to give the fabric a vibrant character.
