The tallest member of the Merano family, the Merano barstool’s shape combines woodbending heritage with strict modernism. Designed by Austrian designer Alexander Gufler, it is the best-selling model in our modern history – and our most copied model too.

Concept

The Merano product line includes a chair, an armchair, a lounge chair and a barstool. The entire furniture set is characterised by flexible plywood and the sharp lines of the legs. Remarkably, these all-wood products are minimalist in structure as well as appearance – they are glued, meaning not a single screw was required, yet the furniture remains strong. Our best-selling collection worldwide, the models’ success is confirmed by the many awards they have won, including the Red Dot and Good Design.
