menos was created in 1996 and has now matured to become a modern classic. After various supplements and revisions, the range will now be relaunched at the imm Cologne 2005.
Primarily menos is a range of stand-alone furniture. With minimalist solitary chests of drawers the range produces clear accents in a space, particularly effective in the brilliant colours of the high-gloss finishes. But for use as add-on furniture, as well, menos can be very effective. The wide basic chests can be combined to form rows, accompanied in parallel by the new wall-mounted chests. The horizontal furniture configurations thus produced are particularly attractive and striking. The basic chests can be fitted with a special media option, which includes a cable duct and routing channel, for the integration of TV/hi-fi equipment.
All menos chests feature high quality details including the characteristic corner joints, which have a precise mitre but fine round edges, and also the striking aluminium handles. Matt or high-gloss finishes in a wide range of matching colours are available. The new colours include piano black, sand and espresso. Panels and tables are available in maple and light oak. Buyers can choose from matt aluminium or shiny chrome fittings, with the latter being particularly beautiful when combined with the high-gloss finishes.
menos is an extensive range of furniture for people who appreciate the mobility of modern living and demand the very highest quality combined with durable design.
The high design quality of the furniture is documented by two awards – The Swiss Design Prize 1997 and the International Design Prize of the State of Baden-Württemberg 1997. menos was included in the permanent design collection of the Berlin Museum of Decorative Arts in 2002.
