Kalm

Armchairs from Artifort, Designed by Patrick Norguet

Product description

Construction
Kalm is a upholstered armchair. Its semi-circular shell of the backrest and arms is attached to the underside of the seat cushion. The internal tubular frame of the Kalm is lined with foam. The chair has a metal swivel cross base in stainless steel or powder coated. In addition, a wooden 4-legged base in oil finish is available. The Kalm armchair can be combined with matching Ottoman, which has an upholstered cushion in the same shape as the cushion in the chair.

Concept

Kalm is a large, cosy armchair designed by Patrick Norguet in 2015. To give you a warmer and more domestic feel, Artifort now brings Kalm Comfort. Developed with extra soft padding and an exposed stitch work creating a more characterful and comfortable fauteuil.
‘To me, Kalm is a statement’, Norguet says. ‘The clean and expressive lines set it apart from other big armchairs. This chair brings to mind a lifestyle that is vital and vibrant. The cushion literally forms the basis for the design archetype. I covered it with a large protective shell that seems to both embrace and envelop it. The design also explores the possibilities of different base executions, such as a 4-legged swiveling base in polished stainless steel or powder coat and wooden legs.’
