Juliet

Armchairs from Poltrona Frau, Designed by Benjamin Hubert

Product description

The Juliet armchair is the symbol of Poltrona Frau’s centenary, winner of the design contest involving twelve talented designers from all over the world that the company held to mark its first hundred years. With Juliet, Benjamin Hubert gives the classic capitonné a contemporary makeover, creating a soft, free version embellished with original pleated stitching for the insides that recalls the embroidery and ruffling of women’s bodies and sleeves, creating a multifaceted pattern that brings dynamism to the surface. The Juliet armchair has a traditional wooden frame which, narrower at the base, puffs outwards at the seat. The rich upholstery, with its surfeit of folds and stitching, is an invitation to lie back and relax. The structure is made from solid beech with a birch plywood base. The seat spring system consists of elastic belts. The seat and backrest padding is in polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The armchair and the Juliet pouf, its natural complement, are upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather embellished with an innovative pleated stitching pattern on the inside of the seat and backrest.
