The new IXO collection by Mobimex is not one of absolute, puritanical minimalism. Instead, architect and designer Dante Bonuccelli elicits the stylistic features of the modern classics: he evokes the legendary Thirties and Mies Van der Rohe, the chrome-plated columns of the epoch-making Barcelona Pavilion, and the Barcelona chair with chrome-plated, flat steel frame. IXO is a declaration of heightened emotion. It is not minimalism which takes precedence, but rather the material pleasure, the surface elegance and the hunger for a hint of luxury.

IXO-Office is an extensive collection of fine, elegant desks, cabinets, lowboards and sideboards, thus offering the right solution for every furnishing context. The table captivates through its slenderness and elegance.
The sophisticated materials and meticulous workmanship betray an appreciation of quality and refinement. The lowboard establishes a firm contrast with the floating tabletop. A horizontal cuboid provides storage space for files, equipment and IT facilities. IXO provides an office solution in which a premium is placed not on size and weight, but rather on materials and aesthetics.

    An uncluttered sitting room-cum-media room is now a feasible prospect, thanks to the IXO Mediaboard. We all enjoy watching a film or sports programme on a large screen – however, it is not so desirable for the large flatscreen television to dominate the sitting room. One doesn’t want to watch it all the time! The innovative solution to this impasse is offered by the IXO Mediaboard. At first, it appears as a sideboard of elegantly simple design, an interesting objet enhancing the living room. It is only when, at the touch of a button, the media technology springs to life, that it becomes a sophisticated media centre. There is fascination in the beautiful lines of the emerging media element, which incorporates flat screen and loudspeakers. The customer’s favourite media specialist can supply the technology, perfectly tailored to the customer’s requirements. The sideboard has ample room to accommodate equipment such as e.g. DVD player, PC and decoder.

    The mirror-like surface of the horizontal casing top in polished chromium steel reflects its surroundings and the objects standing on it. It gives lightness to the piece, making it appear less bulky. The longitudinal wood uprights support the vertical divisions of the front. IXO lives by its proportions and the rhythmic interplay between reflective metal components and the natural grain of the wood. This furniture line presents a convincing synthesis of formal elegance and practical function. Top is also available in black leather as an alternative to chromium steel or aluminium. The support frame of the lowboard and the underframe of the table are available in polished chrome or matt chrome black.

    The light, ‘floating’ table top of solid wood has tapered edges which emphasise lightness and elegance. Depending on the angle from which it is viewed, the sophisticated steel support structure appears either as a solid frame or as a transparent vertical pattern.
