Isokon Penguin Donkey by Isokon Plus

The Donkey was first advertised through Penguin Books in 1939 therefore inheriting the name. Useful for newspapers and magazines it also holds up to 80 paperback hooks.
When Allen Lane saw the 'Donkey' he was greatly impressed and offered some 100,000 advertising leaflets to go into his Penguin books, free of charge. The 'Donkey' was then renamed the 'Isokon Penguin Donkey': 'Donkey' because it had four legs and two panniers - its body was hollow to provide space for papers.
