A seat like a cushion or a blanket. Creating comfortable seating for walls or exterior steps was the idea behind “il posto”. The flowing form of this highly solid, weather resistant, high-pressure laminate made this idea a reality. From its horizontal to vertical surface, the seat curves gently. In this way hard and often unsightly edges are covered over. “il posto” is simple to mount by means of a stainless steel construction beneath the seat that uses very few screws. Through this lower construction an inflatable cushion is created beneath the seat that provides a slightly insulating effect.

Plate Material
A duromer high-pressure laminate based on 65% natural fibre plates, pressed with special resin and under high pressure and temperatures. For many years this material has proven purposeful as a high-quality building material, e.g. in curtain walls.

Steel Frame
The load bearing structure is made of a framework of stainless steel. By means of the frame elements, an insulating air cushion is incorporated that provides a comfortable sitting temperature. Stainless steel piping is carefully attached to the reverse side of the laminate with a high-strength polyurethane adhesive to enable the laminate to be screwed to the frame.

Fixation
The framework is mounted on the surface with two screws and two raw plugs. Six side screws are used to secure the laminate to the framework and these can only be taken apart with a specific tool, thus protecting against vandalism.
