Keen on finding hidden treasures in Herbert Hirche’s old house in Stuttgart, we started investigations by visiting his daughter Conny Hirche, who still lives there. With all the old relicts of another time, somehow. Furniture, paintings, textiles, glass and tableware from the fifties and sixties… A real treasury! And we were successful!
We found a low chair, designed for the famous fair “Interbau” in Berlin 1956. We were speechless when we saw it. Why did this chair never go into production? A chair in the tradition of Saarinen and Eames, still an independent design.
Decision was quickly made. The “H 57” is now available in the original green “Velour” fabric, alternatives in grey and dark brown. For special friends, we offer suede in cappuccino brown, grey-brown or black… Black Nappa is also available.
Designer: Herbert Hirche
