Gladys Chandelier stainless steel

Gladys is a beautiful steel-lamp with a soft lace-pattern designed by Louise Hederström.

“I grew up in a family where crafts played an important role in the social life of women, and therefore some materials have a strong connection to my childhood. Bobbin lace is one of them. A scholarship from Estrid Ericson’s Foundation gave me the opportunity to explore a traditional material such as bobbin lace, and to give it a more contemporary expression. The chandelier is a further development of the possibilities of running metre lace, and is laser cut 1 mm thick sheet metal, to give a thin and delicate feeling that is almost reminiscent of paper. This particular illusion of something thin and delicate, yet in a hard material, was highly interesting to work with. I want to bring the user a festive feeling in the every day life.” / Louise Hederström

The Gladys family consists of pendants, ceiling lights, and chandeliers in white lacquered steel with a lace pattern that creates a playful light effect. The chandelier is also available in copper colour.
