JL 1 Faber stool
The JL 1 Faber is a stool made from solid oak. Its constructivistic leg frame characterises the entire Faber furniture family, reminding of the traditional half-timbered houses of northern Europe and thus relating to craftsmanship and history.
To provide comfortable and stable seating, the 30mm strong, circular seatplate has a 15mm deep milled cavity of conical shape converging into a central point. This detail of the seat design goes in-line with strong geometry of the frame and causes an intriguing reflection under certain light conditions.
Smooth diminutions of the 30x30mm wooden beams the construction is based upon, give the Faber family products a subtle elegance and lightness.
The JL 1 Faber is either available in natural oak or coloured stained.
The JL 1 Faber stool has received the Interior Innovation Award 2012, awarded by the German Design Council.
JL 2 Faber sidetable
The JL 2 Faber sidetable is a variant of the JL 1 Faber stool; instead of a seat, a 20mm strong table top is mounted upon an identical leg frame as used with the JL 1. The sidetable is available in two versions, which differ in the diameter of the table top: 350mm and 450mm. The larger version has a let-in flush aluminium profile in the underside of the table top to make sure the solid wood keeps its shape due to inherent natural movement.
It is possible to get the JL 2 Faber sidetable in a two-coloured finish, which visually seperates the table top from the leg frame and emphasizes these different functional elements. It is of course available in an uni-colour version or entirely natural.
JL 3 Faber bistro table
The JL 3 Faber is a bistro table made from solid oakwood that embodies the art of carpentry. Its three-legged frame is based upon 40x40mm beams and reminds of half-timber houses in traditional Northern Europe architecture and is a larger version of the frame, which characterises the entire Faber furniture family. Its dynamic and geometric shape in combination with a 20mm slim table top give the bistro table a lightness, which is accentuated by the diminution of the legs to the bottom.
The 750mm diameter round table top is reinforced with two let-in flush aluminium profiles underneath to keep the natural material wood in shape due to its inherent movement. In a two-colour scheme, which seperates the table top and leg frame visually from each other, the distinct functions of those elements is accentuated. The JL 3 Faber is available uni-colour or entirely natural as well.
JL 4 Faber bar stool
The JL 4 Faber bar stool is an adaptation of the JL 1 Faber stool design to a higher seat height. The characteristic three-legged frame has been extended to reach 680mm, for placement on a kitchen counter, and 780mm, for use on a bar counter.
A circumferrentially inserted step-up rail gives additional stability and allows for seating positions facing every direction. As with the Faber stool, the 30mm strong solid wood seat has a 15mm deep milled conical cavity to provide a comfortable and stable seat. The JL 4 Faber is either available in natural oak or uni-coloured stained.
The JL 4 Faber bar stool has received the Interior Innovation Award 2012, awarded by the German Design Council.
