Edward Sectional

Sofas from Bensen (Canada), Designed by Niels Bendtsen

Product description

Concept

The Edward sofa is an update of the BENSEN Ed sofa and utilizes a number of new production techniques for improved comfort and a more refined profile. The name Edward is a reference to American mid century designer Edward Wormley whose designs have remained highly influential. Edward is a contemporary reinterpretation of the mid century archetype established by Wormley. The Edward sofa combines the use of several down-filled back cushions with a single seat cushion giving it an informal and relaxed appearance. The buttoned seat cushion alludes to the Edward’s mid century roots, yet its proportions and comfort are decidedly contemporary. The backrest and arms are appropriately scaled to give excellent back support without appearing oversized and heavy, while the down-filled back cushions conform to give superb comfort. Edward is available in three sizes, and can be specified in either fabric or leather, or in fabric with a leather seat.

Technical Description
The Edward frame is constructed with a durable steel frame featuring an elastic webbing suspension system adapted from the automotive industry. CNC precision cut foam is used for the arms and back to give superior comfort and a tailored appearance. The imported European seat and down back cushions have been carefully selected for durability, firmness and comfort. Seat cushions are made of CFC-free polyurethane, softened by a continuous Dacron wrap. Back cushions are baffled for even distribution of feathers and batting and to prevent shifting, thereby providing better lumbar support.
