Distance takes its name from its most salient feature: the split back support where the top section seems to float above the lower, combining excellent comfort with a light simple appearance. The unusual design harks all the way back to Haugesen’s graduation project from Designskolen Kolding in 1961 and his associations with Arne Jakobsen for whom Niels Jørgen Haugesen worked for five years. Distance had its world premiere in 2004. The sofa series comprises two-, three- and four-seater sofas, a corner sofa as well as an armchair and a stool. Also available is a bench without armrests, perfectly suited to a waiting room. The Distance series incorporates a hardwood frame covered with fabric and metal legs.

Two-Seater: W 1200 x D 740 x H 800 mm, SH 420 mm
