Cuna of Capdell

Coming up with a good design is always a long, painstaking, complex process. It includes a long period of finding documented information and designing a strategy to help define the project details, determining the objectives and function.
It is precisely this process, although seemingly humdrum, which is so extremely stimulating. It is this fertile ground from which inspiration and the best ideas spring.

The Cuna model, designed by Zana Design, is the result of a free briefing, taken as a brain storming session, which led to three very different preliminary ideas. These three designs gave up the main idea upon which "Cuna" was finally based. a hanging armchair with an inspiringly gentle swinging motion. The symmetric rectangular structure, in wood or metal, supports a seat which seems to float gently above the ground.
