Crystal is a very individual curtain that features a powerful and dynamic motif of cracked glass. It has been specially created for an exhibition of glass, entitled Anima/ Animus, designed by Tord Boontje and his partner, artist Emma Woffenden.
Its bold white pattern lies against a bottle green, transparent background, which has been created by removing part of the fabric using the burn-out technique. The curtain is also available in a laminated version. The blank foil gives it an even more glass-like sheen. The end result is a very distinctive fabric that mimics glass: as you bunch it together, the colour gets deeper, obscuring the view behind it, in the same way your view changes if you look through an increasing number of glass bottles. Crystal is only available in one colour: white on bottle green.
