Coupe

A parasol base is in fact a “necessary evil”. When you buy a new, nice parasol you also need a parasol base. But the traditional parasol bases are in fact products nobody likes. They are heavy and bulky, they stand in the way, they are ugly and can not be moved easily. This conclusion has lead to a splendid challenge for a designer: design a functional base that is an attractive object on its own. Jan Melis took up the challenge to design a parasol base people like.
