CLICLOUNGETABLE TRESPA

It started with an easy chair…
The CLICLOUNGER easy chair was conceived in 2004 when PeLi was researching the values of modernity which are for him: multiplicity (industrial reproduction), clarity of use and function, absence of decoration and honesty of material.
Modernist furniture is exemplified in the crate-furniture of Rietveld which were the first do-it-yourself pieces (today: IKEA-style).
He thought this through:
What would happen if you make the whole thing from only one material?
What kind of connections can do that?
The answers came out of researching traditional Japanese wood connections and hiking gear.
PeLi used an HPL plate material that is very dense and strong with a durable top-layer, scratch and water resistant. (the furniture is also suitable for outdoor use). Out of this plate the furniture is CNC milled to direct use without any further production steps in between. These first pieces where developed in close contact and support from TRESPA International.

In 2007 PeLiDesign produced the CLICLOUNGE consisting of an easy chair and a table. Soon after that the range was enlarged to a sturdy yet well proportioned and comfortable dining chair, a Dining table (upon request) and a bar table.
