The more dynamic the changes in the working world, the more important orientation and guidelines in corporate organizations are. The quality of interior design and furniture is both internally and externally a visible placeholder for the value that is assigned to the process in question. In the case of meetings, conferences and consultations, in which the focus is on far-reaching decisions, it is therefore useful to have an environment that conveys emotional factors such as appreciation, confidence building and reassurance. The new conference chair, designed for Wilkhahn by the wiege design studio, meets these requirements by means of exclusiveness and comfort, and the fact that it conveys a club-like, even private atmosphere – to support informal confidence building.

The four-legged chair is striking due to an attractive combination of the extremely graceful frame, particularly in side profile, and the unitary, clearly contoured cushion unit presenting a seat platform and backrest with conically shaped cross-sections. Special bending technology has been used to achieve the high-precision form of the frame that combines the weight advantages of flat-profile, rectangular tube with the gracefulness of solid materials, thus creating a high degree of elegance. The smooth contours of the monoform cushion unit offer a counterpoint by signalizing high quality and a sense of comfort that combines professionalism with intimacy. This interplay makes the chair unmistakably unique.

Carus chairs are available in four model variations for various applications: with a medium-height and high backrest, as well as with or without armrests. Extremely high-quality textiles and leathers from the Wilkhahn collection are available as upholstery material for the unitary, replaceable cover and the armrest pads. The new Carus conference chair is available from December 2008.
