Brandina

After more than thirty years’ experience of working with wood, you tend to know a lot about it so you are always eager to push the boundaries.“Brandina” was designed by studying the effect of different pressure brought to bear on the structure, such as the joints, the testing, the pegs, all with the aim of creating a structure that could work just as well as a bed as a sofa.To complete this project we had to research how to enable highly experienced craftsmen to produce carefully worked pieces in solid wood, such as oak and beech, and assemble them by using special joints to enable the individual pieces to form a single body, which is light and totally modern, whilst keeping the use of glue to a minimum. Pure linseed oil is used to treat the wood, to enhance the grain but also to make it water repellant as well as improve the gloss and generally prolong the life of the product.
