BPL is a suspension lamp which - as often happens in the world of fashion - is made with both craftsmanship techniques and industrial processes. The white globe of the diffusers made with an original technique that is suitable for polyester, and which was devised on purpose by the designer herself. The fabric is hand-knotted with spherical wooden tracing patterns, and later deformed in a vapour kiln in order to make it look like a bubble, a decoration in three dimensions that diffuses and multi-facets light. It is then cut and sewn, and realised in two different dimensions. The diffuser that “dresses” the inner structure is made of a reinforcing rod. BPL won the “Excellent Swedish Design Award”.
