Scandinavia meets the East in Stouby’s new lounge chair
Stouby Furniture has launched their newest line of development with the lounge chair Biloba, which has been named after the Asian Temple Tree, Gingko Biloba. The chair design has been inspired by the unique shape of the leaves, which has given the chair its characteristic appearance.
The Biloba chair with its soft organic forms is being introduced into the market for lounge furniture and tells a personal story. Created from natural Scandinavian materials with a purity of design, the chair gives an expression of community spirit, which is often experienced in Asiatic cultures as well as a love of good craftsmanship. There is an expectation from Lars Hovgaard, sales and marketing director at Stouby Furniture that the Biloba chair exhibits the hallmark of what it takes to become a future classic.
The chair has been inspired by the leaves from a Temple Tree and created from the ideologies of strength and unity. The idea came from collaboration between Erik Simonsen and Justus Kolberg of Acer Design one day when they went for a country walk in North Fyn to gather inspiration.
