A woven curtain with the image of a printed curtain
Morning on the beach. Glassy sea. The rays of sunlight filtering through the light roll of the waves, creating fine vivid patterns on the sand bars. On a morning like this textile designer Anne Birgitte Hansen was watching the sun and the sea on the beach of Fanø. Inspired by the waves and the sun dancing on the bottom of the sea, she went home to make a rough sketch of her new design which was called Aqua. A textile with contrasting stripes forming the background of a wave pattern in the entire width of the textile, evidently created by an artist who works just as efficiently in print as in weave. It has the same vivid surface as prints, but was woven with the light movement of waves over the jacquard ground. Aqua is full coloured with a soft interplay of the colours on the four vertical lengths, such as paprika, beige, azalea red and turquoise with a wave of copper-orange.
Four new colours have been added in 2006, so Aqua is now available in ten colours.
